Chairman Steve Ward handed a cheque for £177 over to Amy Hilton, of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, earlier this week. A big thank you to the 38 people who supported the quiz, to everyone who donated raffle prizes and to Fox Lane Sports Club who let use the ballroom at no charge. The quiz prizes were donated by www.businessgiftuk.com. The team Mark's Beard repeated their triumph in 2015 so we need someone to knock them of their perch next year.
Wednesday 18th March 2015 – Global Renewables - tours begin at 6:00pm
For Global Renewables, household waste isn’t rubbish; it’s a valuable resource to be recovered, recycled and reused.
That’s why they have developed a combination of some of the world’s most effective waste treatment technologies, enabling them to extract the maximum amount of recyclables from the waste stream and turn the environmentally-damaging organic fraction into a high quality type of compost product called Organic Growth Medium (OGM).
They also produce their own electricity to help run the plant, and collect rainwater for use in the process.
If you have ever wanted to see what happens to your rubbish join us on a tour of the Global Renewables facility in Leyland. We think you will be both surprised and impressed. We will enjoy a tour of the facilities and end the evening with light refreshments, networking and a short presentation about selling on Ebay, Amazon and Groupon, given by Julie Hogan of Swiftkleen.
