November Meeting - Building a Community Interest Company
Tuesday, 12th November 2013 at 8pm - 9:30pm
This event is in the past.
For our November meeting we are excited to be joined by Donna Rowe-Green of Dig In North West, a preston-based community interest company which provides free access to peer-led support formembers of the military and ex-forces community who are experiencing emotional problems as a result of their service.
Donna's journey to establishing her organisation and opening her first walled garden project in Ashton park is an engaging one, involving - in no small part - assistance from the Channel 5 Operation Homefront team!
There will also be a short presentation by Paul Johnson. Paul works in the Sustainable Travel Team at Lancashire County Council. There are grants (up to £5,000) available to businesses in Preston and South Ribble to try to encourage more people to walk, cycle, use public transport, or car-share. Grants have been used to provide things such as showers and cycle storage facilities. Paul will discuss the support available to businesses, including more detail about the grant.
As usual, the bar will be open and members are encouraged to bring guests whom you feel may benefit from introduction to our club.
