Purpose of the event
The Go ON Lancashire Business campaign is a partnership between Lancashire County Council and Go ON UK to help boost the basic online skills of small businesses in Lancashire. The campaign aims to support the 32% of SMEs that don’t have basic online skills.
Lancashire's e-commerce market is flourishing; but just half of small businesses have a website. Of those who do, only 1 in 5 allow customers to purchase goods/services online.
The UK’s investing in top notch digital infrastructure, platforms and services and through working with Go ON UK, we’ll have achieved our vision, when every small business has the skills and confidence to use them.
The good news is that there is already a lot of support available to help businesses acquire new skills and apply them however, we know, that each organisation cannot do it alone and that by working in a partnership, we can combine our efforts more effectively to boost these skills.
The event will bring together a range of Go ON partners who deliver free services to businesses to help get their businesses online. Google will be running one of their Juice Bar workshops offering SME’s and business owners free 1-2-1 consultations, tips, guidance and practical advice on the effective use of Google tools to help boost their online presence and use the internet effectively to drive growth for their business.
Lancashire County Council will be showcasing their Boost programme's Business Mentoring offer and the Lancashire Skills Support Programme along with Go ON UK founder partners such as Lloyds Banking Group, The Post Office and Argos who will be showcasing their support too.
