27th November, County Hall Preston from 1pm

Learn how to get your small business online at a free event organised by Go On Lancashire and CLBC members are invited.

Experts from companies including Google and The Post Office will run interactive workshops as part of the event.

Just half of Lancashire's small businesses have a website and only 1 in 5 allow customers to purchase online.

Find out how getting online can help you grow your business – reaching customers from around the world, to doing business more cheaply and reducing your overheads.

At a series of interactive workshops delivered by Go ON Partners, such as Google and The Post Office, you will learn about the support, advice and training that is on offer to you, to get your small business online.

Purpose of the event

The Go ON Lancashire Business campaign is a partnership between Lancashire County Council and Go ON UK to help boost the basic online skills of small businesses in Lancashire. The campaign aims to support the 32% of SMEs that don’t have basic online skills.

Lancashire's e-commerce market is flourishing; but just half of small businesses have a website. Of those who do, only 1 in 5 allow customers to purchase goods/services online.

The UK’s investing in top notch digital infrastructure, platforms and services and through working with Go ON UK, we’ll have achieved our vision, when every small business has the skills and confidence to use them.

The good news is that there is already a lot of support available to help businesses acquire new skills and apply them however, we know, that each organisation cannot do it alone and that by working in a partnership, we can combine our efforts more effectively to boost these skills.

The event will bring together a range of Go ON partners who deliver free services to businesses to help get their businesses online. Google will be running one of their Juice Bar workshops offering SME’s and business owners free 1-2-1 consultations, tips, guidance and practical advice on the effective use of Google tools to help boost their online presence and use the internet effectively to drive growth for their business.

Lancashire County Council will be showcasing their Boost programme's Business Mentoring offer and the Lancashire Skills Support Programme along with Go ON UK founder partners such as Lloyds Banking Group, The Post Office and Argos who will be showcasing their support too.
